Hatching Ducklings! {Teaching Tuesday}

We have been waiting and waiting (three weeks is a loooooong time in kid-minds) for our baby ducks to hatch, and they finally did! They’re the cutest things! We hatched all four of our eggs with only a slight hiccup getting one of the ducks out – poor little guy had some issues getting out of his egg and so we had to take him home and assist him in the process. However, after all that, we have our four little ducklings and they are so adorable, I just can’t stand it.

There’s all four of them! Aren’t they just the cutest? We’ve been holding them and socializing them, and they are so friendly! From left to right, their names are Diego, Henry, Rose, and Bill (duck – bill – get it? haha). This is the four of them drying off from their very first bath! For bath pictures, see below:

Bill is looking right at the camera! They were so happy to be taking a bath; we made the water kind of shallow because we weren’t sure how comfortable they would be in the water but they were ducking and diving, swimming and peeping happily. It was so delightful!

They grow so fast! They’re already a week and a half old and I just can’t get over how stinkin’ cute they are. There’s been a lot of work into getting them to hatch but it was SO. WORTH. IT. I’m not looking forward to having to give them back to the farm when they get older but I know they’ll be happy ducks!
