Rooted in Story: Featuring Indigenous Makers at Copper & Fern

At Copper & Fern, we believe that every item on our shelves should carry meaning — a connection to land, tradition, and the hands that made it.

That’s why we’re proud to carry work from First Nations and Indigenous makers who are not only preserving traditional knowledge, but also reimagining it through contemporary design. These artisans carry forward generations of skill, culture, and storytelling — and invite us to engage with their work in a deeper, more intentional way.

From handcrafted jewelry to beautifully illustrated home goods and meaningful everyday pieces, each item reflects a rich history and a thriving, present-day culture. When you support these makers, you’re not just buying something beautiful — you’re honouring a legacy.

We’re honoured to share space with these artists and entrepreneurs, and to help amplify their voices in our community. Keep reading to explore a few of the Indigenous brands and makers you’ll find at Copper & Fern — each one full of heart, history, and purpose. 🌿

Art Print - Golden Ears Mountain Range

Founded by ethnobotanist Leigh Joseph of the Squamish Nation, Skwálwen Botanicals blends traditional plant knowledge with modern skincare. We carry a selection of their beautifully crafted self-care products, as well as Leigh’s book Held By The Land, her thoughtful card deck for deepening your connection to nature, and the children’s book The Land Knows Me.

Gray J Designs creates striking, contemporary jewelry that honours Indigenous culture and artistry. Each piece is handcrafted with care, blending traditional influences with modern design.

Grounded in respect for land and wellness, Ranger Tea offers premium teas and functional powders inspired by Indigenous harvesting practices. You’ll also find their thoughtfully designed tea mugs in our boutique — and more of their beautiful ceramics will be coming soon.

With a mission to support Indigenous artists and share their stories, Native Northwest offers a wide range of vibrant, meaningful products. From books and colouring books to mugs, wallets, pouches, blankets, jewelry, cribbage boards, magnets, notebooks, pencils, and cards, each item celebrates the richness and diversity of Indigenous cultures.

Every piece you’ll find here tells a story—of culture carried forward, of knowledge shared, of artistry that bridges generations.

We feel privileged to connect our community with these talented Indigenous makers and their beautiful work. Thank you for choosing to shop with intention and for helping these stories continue to grow and flourish.

At Copper & Fern Boutique, you’ll find more than gifts — you’ll find a community of people who care. Come explore, connect, and choose items that align with your values.

💚 Together, we can make a difference — one garment, one refill, one thoughtful purchase at a time.
